What Player Method is, and what it deliberately is not.
This page is not finished. The data controller is not yet determined. It must be filled in before the app is used by anyone other than the person who built it.
What the app does
Player Method is a tool for developing a golf game over time. It logs rounds, practice, shots and putts, and tries to answer the question that is hard to answer on your own: did it get better, and from what?
It is built to be used with a glove on, in sunlight, with one hand, between two shots. That decides a lot of how it looks.
How it reasons
The app does not show a number it cannot stand behind. Below a certain number of observations it says the evidence is too thin instead of averaging three rounds and calling it a trend.
When it compares with something published, the source is given. When it guesses, it says it is guessing. Advice without evidence is worse than no advice, because it can be followed.
What it is not
It is not a medical service. The pain ratings exist so that you can see patterns in your own practice, not to make a diagnosis.
It does not calculate handicap, net score or Stableford. Your official handicap is managed by your club and your golf association.
It does not replace a coach. It is built to make a coach's work easier to follow between lessons.
Course data
Course maps, holes and par outside the clubs’ own scorecards come from OpenStreetMap. © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence: openstreetmap.org/copyright.
Such a course is marked as not yet checked until someone has compared it with the club’s scorecard.
